PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 17 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team was defeated, 5-4, by No. 16 Amherst in its Hoehn Cup quarterfinal match Friday afternoon at the CSA Team National Championships. The Diplomats fall to 13-10 on the season, while the Mammoths improve to 12-8 this year.

F&M's top four positions all cruised to victories, but it was Amherst's bottom-five that was the difference in the contest. Jordan Sprecher earned his team-leading 17th victory with a 3-1 win in the No. 4 slot. Sprecher faced a 1-0 deficit and responded with three-straight wins, 13-11, 11-5, and 11-9, to pull off the victory. Marco DiFilippo earned a 3-0 sweep in the No. 3 position to claim his 15th-individual win of the year. Kyle Broadhurst (No. 1) and Sharan Punjabi (No. 2) both won their respective matches to raise their individual win totals to 14 this winter. Broadhurst claimed an 11-4 win in the fourth game to earn a 3-1 victory, while Punjabi downed his opponent with a 3-0 sweep.
