PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 17 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team wrapped up the Hoehn Cup with a 5-4 victory over No. 14 Colby during its consolation match in the CSA Team National Championships Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Diplomats' record to 15-10 this season, while Colby drops to 13-6 this year.
Tied up at 4-all,
Sam Freed's 3-2 victory in the No. 6 position was the deciding match as he picked up his 12th win of the year.
Jordan Sprecher earned his 19th win of the season with a 3-0 sweep in the No. 4 slot.
Marco DiFilippo picked up his 17th victory of the year with a 3-1 win in the No. 3 slot, while
Noah Katzer earned his 14th individual-win of the season in the No. 5 position. Finally,
Blake Newcomer outlasted his opponent in the No. 9 slot – winning a five-game thriller, 3-2, for his eighth victory of the winter.
Franklin & Marshall now prepares for the CSA Individual National Championships, beginning on March 8.
