LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 22 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team rolled to an 8-1 victory over No. 23 Colby Saturday afternoon at the Mayser Center Squash Courts. With the win, the Diplomats improve to 6-11 on the season, while the Mules drop to 4-8.
Before the match, the F&M women's squash team honored its senior class in a Senior Day ceremony. Those seniors included
Cate Costin,
Iman Jaikishan,
Kylie Loughney,
Aryaa Ogale, and
Ana Petrosky.
Ogale continued her dominance as she picked up her 11th total victory of the season and sixth individual win in a row as she downed her opponent 3-1 in the No. 2 slot.
Gurlin Kaur (No. 1), Costin (No. 3), and
Zarine Gidwaney (No. 4) all earned their eighth wins of the year. Kaur held off her opponent, 3-1, while Costin followed with a sweep in her match. Gidwaney battled through a five-game clash as the junior won the fifth, 11-4, to hold onto the match-victory.
Mia Todd (No. 5) and
Joey Ho (No. 8) each swept their opponents to earn their fourth and second wins of the season, respectively. Petrosky claimed her third victory of the year as she won by default in the No. 9 slot.
Franklin & Marshall now prepares for the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championships starting on Friday.
