MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team (5-3, 5-1 CC) returned from the winter break in a 152-90 loss at Millersville (4-2) on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats earned three event wins and 17 top-three finishes.

50-meter events at the meet utilized the skins race format. Starting with an eight person, the top four times were taken for a semifinal before holding a final race featuring the two best finishers of the semifinal.

Sophie Bergstrom earned a team-best three top-three finishes in individual events, including a win in the 50 backstroke final with a time of 28.05. She also claimed second in the 200 backstroke and third in the 400 IM.

Catherine Crampton won the 400 IM with a time of 4:46.67, and she was second in the 200 butterfly. 

Caitlin Barr earned the team's other victory in the 50 butterfly, winning the final with a time of 27.47. 

Madi Bickford claimed second in 50 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle, while Kala Zingle claimed third-place finishes in the 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle.

F&M had two top three's in the 200 medley relay that opened the meet, with Bergstrom, Crampton, Barr, and Bickford in second, while Rachel Baker, Samantha Taylor, Sophie Moyer, and Erin Suter earned silver. 

Bickford, Ava Tseng, Zingle, and Barr were third in the 800 freestyle relay to conclude the meet. 

F&M competes again in two weeks as they head to Johns Hopkins on Saturday, January 25, at 12:00 p.m.
