Tapino, Houff, Lead Way for Diplomats at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's cross country team competed in their first 8,000-meter event of the 2025 season in the Green Race at Friday afternoon's Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh. F&M earned 13th from the field of 35 teams with 365 points, and they were led by a 15th-place showing from Tommy Tapino. Among the four Centennial Conference schools competing, the Diplomats had the second-best team result, besting Ursinus (404) and Muhlenberg (899) while Gettysburg (322) led the way for the conference.

Tapino finished the event in 26:24.9 to earn 15th place from the field of 317 competitors, while Zach Houff finished six spots back in 21st place with a time of 26:42.0. By earning a top 25 finish, the duo were recognized as award winners for the event. Addison Neuen was F&M's next-best finisher, completing the race in 28:24.3, while George Williams (28:39.1) and Cole Smith (28:52.8) completed the team score. Sean Gorman (29:22.1) and Aiden Cotter (29:35.7) rounded out the competing runners for the Diplomats.

Men's cross country's final race ahead of postseason action sees them travel to the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, October 18 for another 8,000-meter race.
