LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team (1-4, 1-3 Centennial Conference) lost to visiting non-conference opponents Mary Washington (1-1-1), 179-83, on Saturday afternoon.

Across the meet, F&M won three events with 14 top-three results.

Delphine Brown led the way for the Diplomats, earning two individual wins in the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke. Her 2:10.32 finish in the 200 backstroke puts her into the F&M performance list for the second time this weekend, as she now holds the program's ninth-best time in the event. 

Madi Bickford, Brown, Kala Zingle, and Grace Kovach concluded the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle, while Zingle, Samantha Taylor, Janelle King, and Bickford were third in the 400 medley relay to begin the day.

Taylor earned the most individual top-three results, claiming third place in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM. 

Bickford and Kovach were second and third in the 50 freestyle, while Bickford also earned bronze in the 100 freestyle. Kathy Peitz-Diaz claimed third in the 500 freestyle.

Zingle finished second place in the 100 backstroke and third place in the 200 backstroke, while Maddie Mealey was third in the 200 butterfly. 

The Diplomats return for the Franklin & Marshall Invitational from Friday, November 21, through Sunday, November 23.
