LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 27 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team (0-1) was defeated in its home opener to No. 9 Drexel (1-0), 9-0, on the opening day of the Penn Cup Friday evening. The Dragons stifled the Diplomats throughout the day, sweeping all nine matches in the contest.
Ashanti Amastal battled in the No. 1 slot, but was denied of the upset as her opponent held on to win, 3-0.
Rory Dasher made a late charge in the third game of the No. 2 match, but came up short in her comeback.
Mia Todd fought in the No. 3 match, but her opponent rallied to a 3-0 victory in the match.
No. 27 Franklin & Marshall now turns its attention to Saturday, playing a doubleheader on the second day of the Penn Cup. F&M will play No. 3 Penn at 1:00 p.m., followed by No. 29 Chatham at 5:00 p.m.
