LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 27 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team (1-2) won one of its two matches on Saturday to conclude the second day of the Penn Cup at the Mayser Center. The Diplomats fell to No. 3 Penn (2-0), 9-0, before overpowering No. 29 Chatham (0-4), 7-2.
Penn cruised to a 9-0 victory in the first match of the day, sweeping all nine individual matches against the Diplomats.
F&M responded with its first win of the season against the Cougars Saturday evening. After falling in the top two matches of the day, the Diplomats took over from there with five 3-0 victories to highlight the team win.
Mia Todd (No. 3),
Joey Ho (No. 5), and
Lavanya Seshasayee (No. 6) all downed their opponents for their first individual wins of the year.
Noelle Bardorf (No. 4) and
Elisabeth Stout (No. 7) both won their matches, 3-0, for their first-career victories.
Destiny Ponce (No. 8) and
Nathalie Hernandez (No. 9) rounded out F&M's day with both players earning wins by default.
