LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse team wrapped an undefeated Centennial Conference regular season schedule with a 16-5 win over Muhlenberg as the Diplomats (15-2, 8-0 CC) hosted Senior Day on Saturday. F&M has now gone unbeaten in conference play 11 times since joining the Centennial Conference and 18 times overall dating back to the team's time in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
Prior to Saturday's game the team celebrated seniors Lydia Cassilly, Izzy Deubner, Ellen Kelly, Lane Lambeth, Izzy Spagnuolo, Adde Hollander, and Megan Bizub. That Class of 2025 has already won two Centennial Conference Championships and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament with another postseason to unfold in the coming weeks.
Senior Lane Lambeth had a team-leading five goals to pace the victory, with classmate Lydia Cassilly registering six points on three goals and three assists. Lauren Pittman had a team-best seven points behind her four goals and three assists. Adde Hollander also scored on her Senior Day, with Devyn Crone and Annie Marshall additionally finding the back of the cage on Saturday.
The visiting Mules scored first, but F&M quickly countered with the next five goals before eventually carrying a 5-2 lead into the second quarter. Five different goals scorers provided a balanced attack for the offense during the first 15 minutes. Cassilly wrapped up her hat trick during the second quarter, with another goal from Pittman making the score 8-3 at the half.
The third quarter was the tightest of the afternoon, but goals from Pittman, Lambeth, and Hollander extended the lead to 11-5. Starting with the final goal of the third, F&M's run reached 6-0 to close the game during the 16-5 final. The Diplomats went up by double digits and held that advantage with 9:50 to play in regulation time. Saturday's scoring was capped by three straight goals from Lambeth, two of which were assisted by her senior teammate Cassilly.
F&M nearly doubled up Muhlenberg in shots with a 37-20 advantage, featuring a 24-8 edge in shots on goal. Sara DiGiovanni stopped seven of the 12 shots on goal that she faced. Four seniors had multiple caused turnovers during the strong defensive effort, led by Ellen Kelly's three CTs. Izzy Deubner, Megan Bizub, and Lambeth also caused multiple turnovers during the win. Three Diplomats picked up three ground balls during the win, with Julia Carbon's seven draw controls helping F&M to a 16-8 advantage in that category.
Women's lacrosse will now turn its attention to the Centennial Conference Tournament where the Diplomats are the No. 1 seed and have earned hosting rights throughout the tournament. Gettysburg, Haverford, Muhlenberg, Ursinus, and Swarthmore claimed the second through sixth positions in the conference seeding.
