GLASSBORO, N.J.- The No. 4 Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse team (10-2, 3-0 Centennial) dropped their second game of the 2025 season, as the Diplomats fell, 11-10, at Rowan on Wednesday evening.
Neither team led by more than two points in a back-and-forth contest, although F&M's last lead came when the Diplomats went ahead, 6-5, early in the third period.
Lauren Pittman had a team-best five goals, while Lydia Cassilly recorded one goal and two assists. Izzy Deubner led F&M with three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Sara DiGiovanni saved 13 shots on 24 total shots on goal from the Profs.
Rowan broke through first with two goals later in the first period, while Pittman closed the gap to 2-1 with 37 seconds left in the first quarter. This kicked off a 3-0 run for F&M, as Lane Lambeth and Devyn Crone scored goals within 90 seconds of each other to claim the Diplomats' first lead with 7:25 in the second quarter. Rowan countered with two straight goals for a 4-3 lead, although Pittman found the back of the net nine seconds after earning the draw control off the fourth Rowan goal. The game remained tied at four-apiece at halftime.
F&M outpaced Rowan to open the second half with goals from Pittman and Claire Book to maintain a 6-5 lead. Rowan reclaimed the lead with two goals scored a minute apart to lead, 7-6, with five minutes to go in the third. Cassily tied the game before the end of the third period for a 7-7 scoreline with 15 minutes to play,
Following a goal from the Profs, Pittman again scored a goal within seconds of earning a draw control to tie things up at 8-8. Rowan countered with back-to-back goals for a 10-8 lead. With time waning goals from Alexandra Proefrock and Pittman tied the contest with 2:59 to play. After denying a free position shot from Cassilly, the Profs earned a free position shot of their own with 30 seconds left to convert the game-winning goal.
With non-conference action concluded, the Diplomats have five Centennial Conference games remaining in the regular season, starting with a trip to Dickinson on Saturday, April 12, at noon.
