MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The No. 16 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (5-4) was turned away in its road match at No. 17 Middlebury (3-3), 7-2, Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats got on the scoreboard with wins in the No. 2 and 3 matches, but the Panthers claimed victories in the bottom-six matches to defeat F&M.

Kyle Broadhurst (No. 2) earned the Diplomats' first win of the day as he swept his opponent, 11-5, 11-6, 11-5, to pick up his sixth individual victory of the season. Aditya Chandani followed by cruising past his opponent, 11-5, 11-6, 11-9, in the No. 3 match to earn his sixth win of the winter. Sharan Punjabi (No. 1) looked to extend his winning streak with a tough battle in the No. 1 match. After fighting back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the match, Punjabi narrowly fell in the decisive fifth game, 12-10. Toby Clegg-Petri (No. 4), Jamie Stait (No. 6), and Dean Vahlsing (No. 8) all played close matches that went the distance. However, those three Diplomats also suffered 3-2 losses in their respective matches.

No. 16 Franklin & Marshall closes the weekend on the road at No. 14 Amherst Sunday at noon.
