AMHERST, Mass. – The No. 16 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (5-5) fell short in its final match of the weekend as it suffered a 6-3 loss at No. 14 Amherst (5-0) Sunday afternoon. The Diplomats won three individual matches, including a sweep in the No. 1 match. However, the Mammoths won four of the bottom-five matches to hold off the Diplomats.
Sharan Punjabi earned his sixth win of the season and second of the weekend as he tallied a 3-0 sweep in the No. 1 match, 11-4, 11-4, 12-10.
Toby Clegg-Petri won a five-game thriller in the No. 4 slot to pick up his fourth victory of the year. Tied 2-2, Clegg-Petri overpowered his opponent, 11-7, in the final game to secure the victory.
Akshat Agarwal also tallied his fourth win of the winter as he claimed a 3-1 victory in the No. 7 match. Tied at 1-1, Agarwal took the final two games, 12-10, 11-3, to get F&M its third win of the day.
No. 16 Franklin & Marshall looks to rebound when it travels to play No. 19 Rochester on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
