CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Franklin & Marshall women's swimming team (2-4, 2-3 Centennial Conference) opened a three-meet weekend with a 133-71 victory at Washington College (3-6, 2-5 Centennial Conference) on Friday evening. Across the meet, the Diplomats totaled eight event wins and 22 top-three finishes.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Madi Bickford, Delphine Brown, Matti Harvey, and Grace Kovach earned an event win and led the Diplomats in a sweep of the top-three places. Caitlin Barr, May Hartog, Kathy Peitz-Diaz, and Erin Suter were second, while Eliza Craw, Eliza Emmet, Abbey Schofield, and Maddie Mealey claimed bronze. 

The 200 medley relay team of Kala Zingle, Samantha Taylor, Janelle King, and Bickford claimed second place, while Barr, Riley Reader, Mealey, and Matti Harvey followed in third place.

Brown led the way individually for the Diplomats, securing event wins in both the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Kovach followed in second place in the 200 freestyle.
 
F&M swept the top three spots in the 100 backstroke, as Zingle won the event followed by silver for Barr and bronze for Hartog. 

Bickford and Harvey claimed first place and second place, respectively, in the 50 freestyle. 

Tseng secured first place in the 1000 freestyle, and Schofield followed in second place. Tseng also earned third place in the 200 IM.

Mealey won the 100 butterfly and was followed by King in second place. 

Other top three's included third-place finishes for Peitz-Diaz in the 500 freestyle and Reader in the 100 breaststroke.

The Diplomats return tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. with a trip to No. 24 Salisbury.
