LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall department of athletics & recreation is thrilled to announce the hiring of Samantha Campo as the Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations. She will begin her official duties with the College on January 26.
Campo brings a vast knowledge of the Centennial Conference to the Diplomats as she has been a student-athlete, coach, and administrator in the conference. Most recently, Campo served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations at Ursinus College. In that role, she was responsible for event and transportation coordination, game scheduling, facility management, and game day operations.
Prior to moving into athletics administration, Campo was the head coach of the Bears' softball team for 10 seasons where she led the team to multiple playoff appearances. Campo got her start in coaching at Gettysburg where she also won over 100 games as the Bullets' head coach during a coaching career which has seen her teams tally 236 wins.
A 2004 graduate of McDaniel, Campo was also a standout student-athlete in the conference. As a pitcher and shortstop, Campo was a four-time first-team All-Centennial Conference selection who was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year in 2003 and helped her team capture two Centennial Conference Championships during her playing career. Campo graduated from McDaniel with a bachelor's degree in English and holds master's degrees in both exercise science and physical education and school library and media science.
