1/9/2026 6:31:00 PM

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The No. 16 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (5-3) opened its 2026 slate with a road match at No. 12 Williams (3-3) Friday afternoon with the Ephs earning an 8-1 victory over the Diplomats. F&M earned a 3-2 win in the first match, but Williams responded by winning the final eight that included five sweeps during the contest.

Sharan Punjabi got the Diplomats on the scoreboard by outlasting his opponent in a five-game thriller in the top match. After Punjabi claimed the first two games, 11-7, 11-3, his opponent responded with two wins of his own to tie the match. The junior overpowered the final game, winning 11-8 to pick up his fifth-individual win of the season.

Kyle Broadhurst (No. 2) and Jamie Stait (No. 6) had similar bouts as both Diplomats won the third game of their respective matches to get within one of their opponents. However, Williams was able to hold onto the win in both matches to cushion their team lead. Aditya Chandani got off to a fast start with an 11-7 win in the first game of the No. 3 match. Despite the early advantage, Williams' Asher Leavy battled back with three-straight wins to win the match.

No. 16 Franklin & Marshall looks to get back into the win column on Saturday, squaring off with No. 17 Middlebury at 1:00 p.m.
