LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 18 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (8-6) was held off in a 5-4 loss to No. 19 Western Ontario (3-6) Sunday morning in F&M's first match on the Mayser Center Squash Courts since November 23. Tied at 4-4, the Mustangs earned a 3-2 victory in the No. 8 match to secure the victory over the Diplomats.
Kyle Broadhurst opened the day for F&M with a 3-0 sweep in the No. 2 match, 11-4, 11-3, 11-3, to pick up his 12th individual win of the season. The win was also Broadhurst's ninth sweep this winter.
Aditya Chandani followed by winning the No. 3 match, 3-1, for his 10th victory of the year. Chandani took an early 2-1 lead and clinched the win in the match by taking the fourth game, 11-4.
Toby Clegg-Petri (No. 4) and
Akshat Agarwal (No. 7) both won their respective matches by a final score of 3-2. Clegg-Petri trailed 2-1 when he won the final two games, 11-1, 11-9, for his eighth victory of the season. Agarwal faced a 2-0 deficit when he claimed three-straight wins, 12-10, 11-9, 11-5, for his seventh win of the year.
No. 18 Franklin & Marshall looks to bounce back when it hits the road to face No. 14 Navy on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
