CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 19 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (11-9) was defeated by No. 12 MIT (14-4), 6-3, on the final day of the Holley Cup at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championships. The Diplomats won the top-three matches, but the Engineers answered with six-straight victories to take the team victory on Sunday.
Kyle Broadhurst earned a hard-fought win in the No. 1 match as he overpowered his opponent in five games for his 15th individual win of the season. Broadhurst trailed 2-1 when he won the final two games, 11-3, 11-7, to claim the victory.
Aditya Chandani also came out on top of the five-game thriller as he outlasted his opponent in the No. 3 match for his 14th win of the year. Chandani fell behind 2-1, but came back with victories in the final two games, 12-10, 11-4, to earn the win.
Sharan Punjabi cruised to a 3-0 sweep in the No. 2 match to improve to 12 individual victories this winter.
No. 19 Franklin & Marshall returns to the Mayser Center on Sunday to host No. 22 Hamilton at 11:00 a.m.
