PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 19 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (13-10) rallied past No. 18 Western Ontario (7-7), 6-3, Saturday afternoon to advance to the Hoehn Cup consolation final at the College Squash Association Divisional Championships. The Diplomats dominated the top half of the individual matches, winning four of the top-five bouts.
Kyle Broadhurst continued his stellar season by sweeping his opponent, 3-0, in the No. 1 match for his 17th individual victory of the year.
Aditya Chandani came out on top of the five-game battle in the No. 3 slot. Tied 2-2, Chandani won the final game, 16-14, to tally his 16th victory of the winter.
Sharan Punjabi cruised past his opponent, 3-0, in the No. 2 match for his 14th win this season.
Noah Katzer (No. 5) and
Akshat Agarwal (No. 7) both earned win in their respective matches to improve to 12 victories this year. Katzer swept his opponent, 3-0, while Agarwal downed his matchup, 3-1.
Jamie Stait overcame a 2-0 deficit to win in five games during the No. 6 match. Stait won, 11-5, 11-8, 11-5, to record his 11th victory this winter.
No. 19 Franklin & Marshall advances into the Hoehn Cup consolation final, squaring off against No. 17 Middlebury on Sunday at noon.
