Magerko, Errington Score in 2-0 Women's Soccer Win over Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (2-1-1) bounced back from a mid-week loss, outshooting Eastern (2-2-0) 33-2 in their 2-0 away victory on Saturday.

F&M's goals came from Kyra Magerko and Ellison Errington, while Emerson McDonald and Katherine Finnerty registered assists. Magerko led the side with seven shots and four shots on goal, while Amanda Nemeth recorded six shots and five shots on goal.  Lucy Fleming had to make just one stop to earn her second shutout of 2026.

After forcing two stops in the early stages, F&M opened the scoring in the seventh minute via Magerko. The sequence began with Meg Balerna playing a headed ball in midfield forward. A deflected Eagles header found McDonald 35 yards from goal, and she began dribbling into space. From there, Magerko split the centerbacks and was met by a McDonald through ball which she put into the top-left corner from 12 yards away. F&M registered eight more shots and three shots on goal in the remaining time to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Diplomats doubled their advantage inside of four minutes in the second half. Finnerty began the sequence by winning an errant pass back into the defense third by Eastern. Ashley Inacio later passed left to Finnerty, who dribbled through her defender and fired a shot from 15 yards away. The shot was saved but not held on to by the keeper, and Errington tapped the loose ball into the net on the goal line.

F&M kept pressure on Eastern in the second half, outshooting their opponents 19-2, but they did not add further to the lead.

The Diplomats return to Tylus Field to host Arcadia on Wednesday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m.
