Student Athlete Leadership Council

SALC Mission Statement

Franklin and Marshall College's Student-Athlete Leadership Council (SALC) is a student-athlete-led organization whose mission is to foster student-athlete welfare, maximize the student-athlete experience, and strengthen the relationship, support, and comradery between the F&M athletic community, student body, faculty and coaching staff, alumni network, and Lancaster community at large. SALC is committed to developing leadership, allyship, and equality within student-athletes and our communities, and is committed to the endless pursuit of academic and athletic excellence with the ultimate goal of a brighter future for Franklin & Marshall College athletics.

What is the Student-Athlete Leadership Council (SALC)?

Franklin & Marshall College's Student-Athlete Leadership Council (SALC) is a group council made up of approximately 100 student-athlete representatives. SALC aims to provide a platform for student-athletes to create meaningful change both in the Franklin & Marshall and Lancaster community. Through numerous initiatives and events, this organization creates a connection between student-athletes and various campus groups, raises awareness for key issues, and allows Diplomats to share their voice by further developing valuable leadership skills.

Presently, there are separate national SAACs (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) for NCAA Divisions I, II and III. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have SAACs on their respective campuses. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have SAACs.
For more information visit the Centennial Conference SAAC Page or the NCAA SAAC Page.
