Chris Goodling has been an assistant coach at Franklin & Marshall since the 2007-08 school year, specializing his work with the distance runners in cross country. He also spent numerous seasons coaching both sprints and hurdles with the track & field team prior to focusing his efforts within the cross country program.

Goodling graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Coaching. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Millersville in 1995. At Millersville, Goodling participated in track and field from 1989-1992 and Cross Country in 1991. He served as Captain of both teams from 1991-1992. Goodling earned all Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors in the 400 intermediate hurdles and 4x400m relay and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that set an indoor school record in 1992. 

After college, while continuing his running career, Goodling served nine years as a volunteer and as assistant coach at Conestoga Valley High School from 1996-2005. Goodling also has numerous top finishes at local road races in addition to competing with a group of elite local runners in several long-distance relays ranging from 50-200 miles throughout the East and West Coasts.
