Alyssa Campbell joins the Franklin & Marshall softball team as an assistant coach for the 2022 season where she focuses on the development of the team’s pitchers and catchers. Campbell brings over 10 years of experience to the Diplomats after getting her start in coaching as an assistant with the North Penn Eclipse 18U travel team. More recently, Campbell additionally served as the assistant softball coach at Red Land High School for six seasons (2016-2021).
Campbell currently works full-time as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Red Land High School where she has a number of additional responsibilities. In addition to her work with the softball team, Campbell has coached the field hockey and tennis teams while also helping with event management at the football, wrestling, and basketball contests. At Red Land, Campbell holds a number of leadership positions as she has been an advisor for the Females Inspiring, Empowering, Recognizing & Cultivating Evolution (FIERCE) club, the Multi-Cultural Club, and serves on the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee.
A 2014 graduate of West Chester University, Campbell received her bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Health Science. She went on to complete her master’s degree in Recreation & Sport Sciences from Ohio University in 2018 with a concentration in Coaching Education.
As a player, Campbell was a captain and first-team all-league and all-area infielder at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa., and was a member of the Phillies Carpenter Cup team. Additionally, she was a team captain, MVP, and golden glove recipient for the 18U North Penn Eclipse travel team. Campbell was inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame in 2011.
