Anthony Noto joined the Franklin & Marshall wrestling team as a full-time assistant coach prior to the 2026-27 season. Noto brings an impressive background to the Diplomats as he was a two-time All-American and four-time national qualifier during his collegiate career at Lock Haven.
Noto arrived in Lancaster after an extraordinary career at Lock Haven University, where he established himself as one of the nation's elite wrestlers. He captured four Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships, became a four-time NCAA Division I National Championships qualifier, and earned NCAA Division I All-America honors twice, placing fourth nationally in 2023 before improving to a third-place finish in 2024.
In addition to his NCAA success, Noto won the 2022 U23 National Championship at 57 kilograms and was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler. He was also recognized as the MAC Freshman of the Year, a two-time MAC Wrestler of the Year, and built a reputation as one of the nation's most consistent competitors.
Noto's success extended well beyond the wrestling mat. A Lock Haven Scholar-Athlete and NCAA Academic All-American, he graduated magna cum laude from Lock Haven in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in sport management, then earned his master's degree in sport administration in 2026.
Before beginning his collegiate career, Noto starred at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School in New York, where he compiled an outstanding 174-6 career record while winning four New York State Championships. He was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler three times, earned three High School All-America honors, and was consistently ranked among the nation's top recruits by FloWrestling, InterMat, and The Open Mat. His remarkable high school career also included recognition as the AGR Wrestler of the Year three times, a New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame Award, and a proclamation establishing “Anthony Noto Day” in his hometown of Lima, New York.
In addition to his accomplishments as a competitor, Noto has already begun building an impressive coaching résumé. During his time at Lock Haven, he helped mentor Division I student-athletes while gaining valuable experience in athlete development, technical instruction, and film analysis.
