Bruce Myers is in his first season as head coach with the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's tennis teams. Myers is a veteran leader with over 15 years of coaching experience in college athletics and has coached at the Division I and III levels. He spent seven years as the head coach at Bucknell University before most recently serving as the head coach at Arcadia.

“I am incredibly excited to welcome Coach Myers to the team,” said Director of Athletics & Recreation Lauren Packer Webster at the time of Myers' hiring. “I look forward to partnering with him to provide our talented and dedicated student-athletes with all the support they need to achieve success in competition, classroom and community.”

“I am thrilled to be named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Franklin & Marshall College,” stated Myers at the time of his hiring. “I want to thank Director of Athletics & Recreation Lauren Packer Webster, and the F&M administration for their trust and support. I am excited to get to work as we continue the proud tradition of Franklin & Marshall tennis.”

Coaching both the men’s and women’s teams at Arcadia during the 2024-25 season, Myers led both programs to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Tournament. His guidance helped two players earn all-conference recognition. Myers’ teams also excelled in the classroom where 18 student-athletes were named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll.

Prior to returning to the Division III ranks, Myers spent two seasons (2022-24) as an assistant men’s tennis coach at Temple where the Owls combined for 26 dual match victories and advanced to the American Athletic Conference Tournament during both seasons. In addition to his coaching on the court, Myers was instrumental in collaborating with the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) to secure funds for the newly constructed Temple Tennis Complex. With Myers’ assistance, that facility was named as one of 45 winners in the USTA’s annual Outstanding Facility Awards program and now serves as a Collegiate Community hub where the student body, faculty, staff, and local community of all ages are afforded playing opportunities.

Myers’ longest tenure as a head coach came when he led the Bucknell men for seven years (2016-22). Bucknell made two appearances in the conference semifinals and was well-known for its recruiting – highlighted by the sixth-ranked class among all Mid-Major programs in 2022. That standout class arrived on campus just one year after Myers secured the 23rd-ranked recruiting class in 2021. Those back-to-back recruiting classes ultimately helped lead Bucknell to its most Patriot League victories in school history and the first Patriot League title in 30 seasons. During his time in Lewisburg, Myers coached five first-team All-Patriot League selections and four Academic All-Patriot League honorees.

Myers has additionally been the head men’s coach at the University of the Delaware and head women’s coach at Longwood University, while leading both the men’s and women’s teams at North Carolina A&T State. Myers got his start in coaching at the Division III level where he was an assistant coach at Immaculata University for a year before becoming the Director of Tennis at his alma mater, Randolph-Macon. During each of those stops, his teams experienced increased success during each successive season.

A certified tennis professional by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), Myers made the transition to coaching after a successful career in the corporate world as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at both The National Financial News Services (1993-07) and Shoprate.com.

Myers graduated from Randolph-Macon in 1993 with a degree in business and economics. During his undergraduate playing career with the Yellow Jackets, he was a three-time team captain and two-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection in singles.
