Franklin & Marshall College

A two-time All-American at the University of Virginia, Julie Gardner joined the Franklin & Marshall women’s lacrosse coaching staff for the 2025 season. A key part of the Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year in her first year, Gardner helped the Diplomats win the Centennial Conference Championship as they finished with an 18-3 overall record that included an undefeated record in conference play.

Prior to joining the Diplomats, Gardner spent three years as an assistant coach at Lycoming College where she helped the team to back-to-back appearances in the MAC Freedom Tournament while also mentoring two conference rookies of the year and seven all-conference selections. Gardner previously coached at three Division I institutions, serving as an assistant coach for one year at William & Mary (2013), two years at Vanderbilt (2014-15), and one year at James Madison (2016).

Gardner was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Virginia, where she started every game of her career and was the first recipient of the Yeardley Reynolds Love Scholarship in 2012. She earned third-team All-American, All-South Region, first-team All-ACC, ACC All-Tournament Team honors and was a Tewaarton Award nominee as both a junior and senior. Gardner earned a bachelor of arts in sociology from the University of Virginia in 2012.
