Box Score 3 ST. DAVIDS, PA - Franklin & Marshall College setter Jackie Skibbie (Jr., Darby, PA/Merion Mercy) and libero Meghan Godorov (Jr., Orefield, PA/Parkland) earned All-Tournament honors as the F&M volleyball team finished 2-1 to finish second at the Eastern University Invitational.
Versus Catholic University in the opening match, Godorov tallied 24 digs and Skibbie recorded 39 assists, four kills, two service aces and nine digs as the Diplomats rolled to a 3-0 victory. In addition, middle blocker Liz Earll (Sr., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) finished with 10 kills, six digs and two service aces, while outside hitter Nicole Kushman (So., Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) tallied 11 kills, 13 digs, three service aces and one solo block to aid in the victory.
Against Wheaton College, Skibbie had 45 assists and 18 digs, while Godorov added 19 digs as the Diplomats picked up a 3-1 win. F&M, which built a 2-0 lead before falling 31-29 in game three, used a match high 16 kills from Earll and 10 kills from middle hitter Susan Taylor (Fr., The Woodlands, TX/John Cooper) to take the win.
In the final match of the tournament, Eastern University handled the Diplomats 3-0. For Franklin & Marshall, Skibbie passed out 24 assists and Earll had 10 kills, one solo block and a block assist to lead F&M's offense. Further, Godorov netted 22 digs and outside hitter Kayleen Bailey (Jr., Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) had six kills and three block assists.
Franklin & Marshall (15-6, 5-1 Centennial Conference) will continue the season at home on October 19 versus Dickinson College. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
