LANCASTER, PA - Forward Eileen Keever (Jr., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) recorded her second hat-trick in as many games and added an assist to lead #12 Franklin & Marshall to a 6-1 victory over Dickinson College in Centennial Conference field hockey action.
The Diplomats opened the scoring 3:40 into the game as Keever finished a feed from Brenna Dolphin (So., Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) for a 1-0 lead. Less than six minutes later, Keever found the back of the cage for her second score as she fired in an assist from Lindsay Mohr (Sr., Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) at 9:35. Dolphin closed out the first half scoring as she redirected a pass from Keever at 19:00 for a 3-0 lead at halftime.
F&M continued the pressure the Red Devils' defense in the opening minutes of the second half as Maggie Onasch (So., Bowling Green, OH/Maumee Valley) scored off a Brittany Croll (Jr., Frankford, DE/Indian River) assist for 4-0 advantage at 49:50. Keever finished her hat-trick 119 seconds later as she batted in an unassisted goal.
The hat-trick marked Keever's second three-goal performance in less than a week as she teamed with Croll to record for a pair of hat-tricks and all of F&M's goals in a 6-1 win over Bryn Mawr on October 16.
Dickinson broke up the Diplomats' shutout attempt less than three minutes following Keever's final goal as Emily Greenlee found Lauren Moag for a score at 54:11. Franklin & Marshall answered the score with another goal as Stacy Swymelar (Jr., Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) fired in a shot for the 6-1 victory.
F&M goalkeeper Michelle Altmann (Jr., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) made six saves, while Dickinson's Tara McFadden finished with eight saves.
#12 Franklin & Marshall College (12-3, 6-2 CC) will return to action on October 23 at home versus Eastern Mennonite University. Game time is set for noon.
