Box Score 2 HUNTINGDON, PA - Franklin & Marshall College middle blocker Liz Earll (Sr., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) tallied 26 kills and six blocks in eight games as the Diplomats fell to Eastern (3-0 L) and Carnegie Mellon (3-2 L) on the final day of the 2004 Juniata Volleyball Invitational.
Versus Eastern, the Diplomats fell 30-21, 30-15, 30-11 as Earll registered seven kills, two solo blocks and one block assist. In addition, libero Meghan Godorov (Jr., Orefield, PA/Parkland) notched 19 digs and setter Jackie Skibbie (Jr., Darby, PA/Merion Mercy) handed out 17 assists in the loss.
Against Carnegie Mellon, the Diplomats overcame an early deficit but fell to the Tartans 30-19, 27-30, 30-23, 25-30, 15-8 as Earll had 19 kills, four digs, two solo blocks and one block assist. Skibbie added 56 assists, Godorov and Jenna Walck (Fr., Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) both tallied 18 digs and Susan Taylor (Fr., The Woodlands, TX/John Cooper) tacked on 14 kills in the loss
Franklin & Marshall (18-8, 7-1 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on October 26 at home versus Muhlenberg College. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Mayser Center.
