Box Score 2 LANCASTER, PA -- Mary Abrams went four-for-seven with three runs scored and two RBI as the McDaniel College Green Terror swept Franklin & Marshall College 5-2 and 9-3 in a Centennial Conference doubleheader at F&M's Baker Campus.
In game one, the Green Terror banged out 11 hits off Alison Barrett (Sr., South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) for five runs as Barrett went the distance striking out three McDaniel batters in a 5-2 loss.
McDaniel pitcher Sara Abrams allowed two runs (one earned) off four hits and one walk in seven innings with a strikeout while batting two-for-four with two runs scored and a RBI.
For F&M, leftfielder Jen Fried (Jr., Reisterstown, MD/Franklin) went two-for-three with a run scored, while Dana Johns (So., York, PA/Eastern York) hit one-for-two with a run scored and Laura DePalma (Jr., Toms River, NJ/Toms River) went one-for-three with an RBI.
The Green Terror completed the sweep in game two touching starting pitcher Fried for five runs off six hits and a walk in three innings for all McDaniel needed in a 9-3 win.
Reliever Jonelle Coletta (So., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ/Point Pleasant Beach) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks over the last four innings as the Diplomats fall to 5-7 on the year, 2-2 in Centennial Conference play.
At the plate, Fried went three-for-four with a run scored and DePalma hit four-for-four with a two run triple to key the Diplomats' offensive performance.
For McDaniel, Mary Abrams slugged two-for-three with two runs scored and a RBI to lead the Green Terror.
Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 3 at Muhlenberg in a Centennial Conference doubleheader. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
