LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College twins Alexis and Allison O'Meara (Jr., Annapolis, MD/Severn School) combined for seven goals and seven assists as the Diplomats defeated Dickinson College 19-8 in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse at Sponaugle-Williamson Field.

Trailing 1-0 following a goal by Dickinson's Rachel Mowell 1:44 into the contest, Allison O'Meara knotted the score at 1-1 as she fired a shot which sailed into the net at 27:06. Kelly Cassels (Fr., Downingtown, PA/Great Valley) gave the Diplomats the lead for good 76 seconds later as she beat Dickinson goalie Gabby Joffie with a rising shot for a 2-1 lead 4:10 into the game.

The O'Meara's then took over the contest as Allison scored off an assist from Alexis at 24:28 and Holly Rutherford (So., Rochester, NY/Brighton) found the back of the net off a pass from Alexis at 22:37 before Alexis tallied an unassisted goal at 21:36 for a 5-1 lead.

The Red Devils' Kate Lyons closed the gap to three goals as she dumped a shot past F&M goalie Kim Pleasants (Fr., Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby) with 19:34 left in the first half, but Alexis scored off an assist from Allison at 16:39 to push the margin back to four goals at 6-2.

Rutherford finished a feed from Kiki Foster (So., Denver, CO/Kent Denver) at 14:33 to inch the margin to 7-2 before Virginia Rollins (Fr., Baltimore, MD/McDonogh) scored off an assist from Alexis O'Meara and Allison O'Meara registered an unassisted goal at 10:52 and 10:10, respectively, for a 9-2 game. Dickinson's Lesley Oot buried a shot at 7:50 to pull her team to within six goals before Rollins converted an assist from Alexis O'Meara with 5:58 left in the half for a 10-3 lead. Mowell scored again for Dickinson with 3:51 remaining, but Foster gave F&M back a seven goal with only 12 seconds remaining in the frame for an 11-4 halftime margin.

The lead grew to eight goals just 32 seconds into the second half as Allison O'Meara finished a pass from Rutherford for a 12-4 lead. Dickinson's Jena Boccetti scored at the 28:50 mark to pull the Devils' back to within 12-5, but Foster scored off a feed from Allison O'Meara at 28:16 and Alexis O'Meara netted an unassisted goal at 27:48 for a 14-5 lead.

Again, Dickinson attempted to comeback as Laura Williams scored at 24:45, but Alexis O'Meara found Foster wide open in front of the cage for a score at 24:07 and Beverly Menghetti (Fr., Glen Mills, PA/Penncrest) ripped a free-position shot into the cage at 22:46 for a 16-6 lead.

Williams scored at 20:47 to pull the Devils to within 16-7, but Brenna Dolphin (Fr., Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) scored at 7:36 and with three seconds remaining on the game clock, while Foster scored at the one minute mark as the Diplomats picked up the 19-8 win.

The win marks F&M's 27th straight over the Red Devils as Franklin & Marshall College now holds a 27-0 record against Dickinson.

F&M (4-6, 2-3 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 16 at Ursinus College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
