SWARTHMORE, PA -- Outside hitter Nicole Kushman (So., Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks) registered 11 kills, 12 digs and three service aces as the Franklin & Marshall College women's volleyball team defeated Swarthmore College 3-0 (32-30, 30-24, 30-17) in both team's Centennial Conference season opener.

Middle hitter Susan Taylor (Fr., Woodlands, TX/John Cooper) added 11 kills, three solo blocks, three block assists and one service ace, while setter Jackie Skibbie (Jr., Darby, PA/Merion Mercy) dished out 32 assists, recorded 20 digs, two service aces and five kills as the Diplomats improved to 5-0 on the season and upped their record to 26-4 all-time against the Garnet.

Historically, Swarthmore has not defeated Franklin & Marshall in volleyball since 1989, a streak of 14 straight defeats of the Garnet by the Diplomats.

Franklin & Marshall (5-0, 1-0 CC) will return to action on September 17 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
