Skibbie Named to All-Tournament Team as Diplomats Finish 1-3 at Pacific Coast Volleyball Classic

CLAREMONT, CA -- Franklin & Marshall College setter Jackie Skibbie (Jr., Darby, PA/Merion Mercy) was named to the All-Tournament Team as the Diplomats finished 1-3 at the 2004 Pacific Coast Volleyball Classic.

In the team's opening match, the Diplomats fell to Pomona-Pitzer 3-0 (30-18, 30-27, 30-21) before Claremont Mudd Scripps knocked off F&M 3-1 (30-25, 28-30, 30-20, 30-20) to round out the first day of competition on September 17.

On day two, the Diplomats fell 3-0 (30-22, 30-19, 30-20) to Chapman University, but defeated Whittier College in the nightcap 3-1 (30-28, 26-30, 30-22, 30-17) to improve to 6-3 on the season.

The only Franklin & Marshall player named to the All-Tournament team, Skibbie was joined on the team by Christy Daley (CS Hayward), Jacqueline Randolph (CS Hayward), Marissa Cothran (Vanguard), Camille Butts (Claremont Mudd Scripps), Elizabeth Terzich (Chapman) and Jessica Rybka (Pomona-Pitzer).

Franklin & Marshall (6-3, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on September 21 when the team hosts Centennial Conference foe Johns Hopkins University. The game will be a rematch of the 2003 Centennial Conference semifinals as the Blue Jays upset the Diplomats 3-2 to advance to the championship game.

Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
