Box Score LANCASTER, PA - Setter Jackie Skibbie (Sr., Darby, Pa/ Merion Mercy) recorded five kills, 43 assists, and 12 digs to lead the Franklin & Marshall College volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-26, 30-22, 30-22) victory over first place McDaniel College in Centennial Conference action at the Mayser Center.
Outside hitter Margot Phelan (Fr., Ellicott City, MD/ Centennial) and middle hitter Susan Taylor (So., The Woodlands, TX/ John Cooper) drove the Diplomats' offense, tallying 18 and 15 kills, respectively. Phelan also chipped in six digs while Taylor added three digs and one service ace on the night.
Libero Meghan Godorov (Sr., Orefield, PA/ Parkland) led the team's defensive efforts, as she recorded 19 digs and one service ace on the night. Outside hitter Alexis Dansky (Jr., Yardley, PA/ George School) also added to the Diplomats' effort, recording seven kills, two solo blocks and one block assist.
The win increases F&M's record to 12-4, 5-2 in the Centennial Conference while knotting McDaniel's record at 9-9, 5-2 in the Centennial Conference. Historically, the Diplomats have defeated McDaniel in their last seven meetings since a loss on October 20, 1999.
Further, the match marked the final regular season home match for Skibbie, Godorov, outside hitter Rebecca Zeigler (Sr., Manchester, PA/Northeastern) and middle hitter/outside hitter Kayleen Bailey (Sr., Baltimore, MD/Institute of Notre Dame) as the quartet have a 75-37 record in their four seasons at the College.
Franklin & Marshall will travel to Bryn Mawr College for another Centennial Conference match on October 15. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
