Box Score 4 KISSIMMEE, FL - Endicott College's Robyn Savitske and Kelly Bregman combined to pitch a two-hit shutout as the Gulls blanked Franklin & Marshall College 6-0 in spring break softball action.
Savitske went four innings allowing no hits or runs with five strikeouts to earn the win, while Bregman came in to hurl the last three innings allowing two hits and one walk.
The Gulls wasted little time in taking the lead as Endicott posted a pair of runs in the first inning. Ashley Labella started if off with a walk and advanced to second base on a passed ball. Megan Young then walked and both runners moved up on another passed ball, leaving runners on second and third with no outs. Elyse Colby grounded out to third to drive in Labella before Young raced home on another passed ball.
In the third inning, Labella walked and tagged up on a sacrifice fly by Young before scoring on an RBI double by Megan Huckins.
The Gulls tacked on three more runs in the in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead.
Franklin & Marshall recorded both of its hits in the sixth inning as Dana Johns (Jr., York, PA/Eastern York) singled to center field and Bonnie Crouthamel (Fr., Chatham, NJ/Chatham) singled past third base.
Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on March 15 versus Denison.
