ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - Franklin & Marshall College's Lindsay Solar (So., King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion) netted the game-winner 26:54 into the game as the Diplomats' field hockey team downed host Elizabethtown College 5-2 in non-conference action.

The Diplomats jumped out to a 1-0 lead 1:21 into the game as Eileen Keever (Sr., Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) scored off an assist from Brenna Dolphin (Jr., Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy). Elizabethtown tied the game at 1-1 over two minutes later as Mel Slessinger finished a pass from Kelsey Diehl at the 3:35 mark.

Franklin & Marshall took a 3-1 lead into halftime as Allison Barthold (So., Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) scored off an assist from Keever at 14:30 and Solar tallied an unassisted score to give all the Diplomats they would need to roll to the victory.

F&M padded its lead in the second half as Lindsey Mummert (Jr., New Oxford, PA/New Oxford) finished a pass from Brittany Croll (Sr., Frankford, DE/Indian River) at 45:08 and Jessica Senior (Jr., Wilmington, DE/Archmere Academy) scored off an assist from Mummert at 47:44 to put the Diplomats in front 5-1.

Elizabethtown closed the scoring as Laura Rinck found Diehl for a goal at 69:28 for the 5-2 final score.

In goal, Michelle Altman (Sr., Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) played the first half and recorded one save to earn the win and Lindsay Klimik (Sr., Brick, NJ/Brick) registered four saves in the second half for the Diplomats. For Elizabethtown, Kristen Callaghan made four saves to take the loss.

Franklin & Marshall (3-0, 0-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on September 10 at home versus Lebanon Valley College. Game time is set for noon.
