Diplomats postseason hopes dim with loss to Muhlenberg;

Box Score

Oct. 25, 2006

LANCASTER - Franklin & Marshall's field hockey squad was only out-shot by two goals Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, Muhlenberg had two hit the back of the cage as the Mules knocked off F&M 2-0 in a Centennial Conference match.

The Mules got on the board early - scoring in the seventh minute. Lisa Ann Polt scored off a pass from Kate Moyer to make it 1-0 - a lead that held up until late in the game.

With just six minutes left, Polt scored again, this time on a pass from Jessica Hand to cap off the scoring.

In goal, Diplomat Jen Burdo had a solid game, turning back eight shots. Both Brenna Dolphin and Jessika Mancino had two shots on goal each.

Beth Walkenbach's squad will end their regular season Saturday with a Centennial Conference date against Swarthmore.
