Johns Hopkins' surge too much for Diplomats;

Box Score

Oct. 7, 2006

LANCASTER - Franklin & Marshall's field hockey team scored first, but couldn't hang on Saturday as Johns Hopkins rolled to a 3-1 Centennial Conference win to spoil the Diplomats' homecoming.

Brenna Dolphins scored midway through the half to give the Diplomats their brief lead, but the Blue Jays would score twice before half in their comeback.

Emily Miller scored the first goal for the visitors; Adair Landy followed by scoring with just 20 seconds left in the half to put the Jays up 2-1. Landy's goal was assisted by Amy Soergel.

In the second half, Andrea Vandersall took a pass from Miller to give the Jays their final goal of the day.

Beth Walkenbach's squad will be in action again Sept. 11th at McDaniel.
