LANCASTER, Pa. - The York College women's basketball team got out of the blocks quickly with a 12-0 lead as the start of a six-and-a-half-minute, 21-4 run. The Spartans (2-2) never looked back, handing Franklin & Marshall (1-3) a 91-63 loss at the Mayser Center.

Jess Kemp scored the first three of her 15 points 28 seconds into play with a trey from which F&M never really recovered. Her second three-pointer less than two minutes later made it 10-0. She scored eight of her 15 points in the game's first five minutes.

Despite her hot start, it was York's Kristen Daly who led all scorers with 22 points. Her ten rebounds gave the York forward a double-double. Chanel Perez also recorded a double-double for York with 13 points and 10 boards.

Undaunted by the first half deficit that had grown as large as 19 points and remained at 17 at the break, F&M rallied. Jessica Bishop sparked a run with five quick points. The inspired Diplomats then embarked on an 11-0 run over four minutes to make it 51-47.

That was as close as the Diplomats would get. Daly halted F&M's progress with a three-pointer to build the lead back to seven points. Amanda Andrews swung the momentum back in York's favor for good with a three on the following possession to make it 57-47. As a team, York made good on 10 of 17 three-pointers in the game. F&M never closed the double-digit gap the remainder of the way.

Amanda Miceli finished the night with 20 points for the Diplomats. Sarah Meisenberg contributed 14 points while Brittany Braxton posted 12. Bishop, who gave the Diplomats second-half life, scored nine points, with seven coming in the second period.

With the loss, F&M drops to 1-3, while York evens up at 2-2. The Diplomats will dive into the Centennial Conference portion of their schedule on Wednesday when F&M plays host to Haverford. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
