LANCASTER, PA - Host Franklin & Marshall shot 68% from the field in the first half, and held visiting Haverford College to 16.7% shooting in the second half en route to a 69-43 victory in Centennial Conference men's basketball action late Saturday afternoon. The Dips improve to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in Centennial play with the win, while the Fords fall to 2-5 and 2-2.
Franklin & Marshall only missed eight field goals in the first half,
shooting 17-of-25 (68%) in the first 20 minutes of play. Franklin &
Marshall's Bryan Teschke led all scorers at the half with 13 points on
5-of-5 shooting from the floor and a 3-for-3 performance at the charity stripe.
Down 41-28 entering the second half, the Fords shooting went ice cold, as the Dips started off the half on a 28-4 run over the first 12:13 of the half. Haverford converted on only four field goals in the second half, as F&M was able to pace itself to the 69-43 victory.
Teschke led all scorers with 19 points, and shot 9-for-9 from the free
throw line and 5-of-7 from the floor in the game. Senior forward Ray Brown led Haverford with 14 points in the contest.
The Diplomats will return to action on Tuesday, December 19 when they head to Reading, PA to face Alvernia. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm.
