Visiting Franklin & Marshall came out hot, shooting 70% from the field and connecting on 7-of-8 three-point field-goal attempts in the first half to run past host Washington College, 80-54, in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game tonight at Cain Athletic Center. The Diplomats, who shot 60% overall from the field and 70% from three-point range in the game, improved to 6-8 overall and 5-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 2-11 and 1-6 with the loss.
Logan Outerbridge led F&M with 20 points in the game. Outerbridge was 7-of-9 from the field, including a 5-for-5 performance from beyond the three-point arc. All five of his three-pointers came in the first half. Adam Leonard added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Diplomats, while Brandon Chasen tallied nine points and nine assists. Evan Hamme contributed 10 points off the F&M bench.
Senior forward Joey Breslin paced Washington with 19 points and seven caroms. Sophomore guard Tim Kohlrus scored eight points and brought down six rebounds, while freshman forward Bobby Klepacki finished with a career-best six points.
F&M held a 44-28 halftime lead. The Diplomats outrebounded the Shoremen, 37-22, in the game.
The Diplomats will look for their third consecutive Centennial Conference victory on Saturday against Swarthmore.
