LANCASTER, Pa. - Alex Wolfe scored twice to lead No. 5 Lebanon Valley past No. 20 Franklin & Marshall 2-0 in non-conference field hockey action on Thursday night.
Wolfe netted an unassisted tally in the opening half and struck again in the final stanza to help the Flying Dutchwomen (10-0) remain undefeated on the season and record their third shut out.
Jennifer Burdo (Narbeth, PA/Harriton) made four saves for the Diplomats (7-3), while Lindsay Solar (King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion) and Tracie Hiatt (Springfield, VA/Annandale) each recorded a defensive save.
Wolfe put Lebanon Valley on the board in the 7th minute after she drove to the end line and cut back to the middle, slipping her shot past Burdo for a 1-0 lead.
It wasn't until the 59:36 mark that Wolfe made it 2-0, finishing on an open cage off a breakaway.
F&M and the Flying Dutchwomen each tallied 11 penalty corners.
The Diplomats host No. 2 Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
