Women's Basketball Makes It Three Straight

HAVERFORD, Pa. - For the third straight game, Sarah Meisenberg was the leading scorer with 16 points, while Brittany Braxton recorded a double-double to lead Franklin & Marshall past Haverford 69-41 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action on Tuesday night.

Braxton scored 11 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, helping the Diplomats (3-0, 1-0 CC) defeat the Fords (0-3, 0-1 CC) and remain undefeated with their third straight win.

Kathleen Abels posted 15 points to lead Haverford and Sara Cram tallied a double-double with 10 points and the same number of rebounds.

Meisenberg scored the first six points of the game, giving F&M a lead that never relinquished in the opening minutes of the first half for its first conference win of the season.

The Diplomats grabbed a 10-point lead with 10:20 left after Meisenberg made two free throws and pushed the lead to as much as 22 points to end the half.

F&M never let down on its lead, extending it to as many 35 points in the second half at the 5:51 mark with a 64-29 score.

Not only did the Diplomats hold Haverford to 15 points in the first half, but they only allowed 26 points in the final half for the lowest offensive output by an opponent this season.

Cara Landolfi chipped in eight points for F&M.

The Diplomats return to action on Tuesday against Johns Hopkins. Game time is 7 p.m.
