Terror Pulls Away Late

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Heather Thompson scored 17 and gathered 10 rebounds to lead McDaniel to an 86-72 win over Franklin & Marshall on Sunday. The Diplomats (6-19, 5-13 CC) hung around for the better part of 30 minutes before the heavily-rotating Terror (23-2, 17-1 CC) won the battle of attrition and embarked on a 10-2 run to take their lead into double-figures for good with six-and-a-half minutes to play.

Four of the Diplomats starting five played 30 minutes or more. The fifth logged 27 minutes on the floor, while the Terror enjoyed a steady stream of fresh bodies with ten players seeing 11 or more minutes.

Miriam Marcis scored a game-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists, a pair of steals and a blocked shot. Sarah Meisenberg, Brittany Braxton, and Amanda Miceli each scored. Braxton added ten boards for the double-double.

McDaniel got 13 points from Robin Gregg, while Amy Watson contributed 13 from the bench. McDaniel's reserves outscored their Diplomat counterparts 42-6.

With the loss, Franklin & Marshall closes out its season at 6-19 (5-13 CC), while McDaniel improved to 23-2 (17-1 CC).
