Softball Finishes Spring Break 3-7

Finishing its 10 game stint in Kissimmee, Florida over Spring Break 3-7, the Franklin & Marshall softball team improved its overall record to 3-9.

The Diplomats' three wins came against Concordia 3-1, Suffolk University 3-2, and UW-Rivers Falls 4-3 (in eight innings), while their losses were to Kean 9-2, Benedictine 7-0, Defiance 6-5, Howard Payne 6-0, Rhode Island College 4-2, Carthage 10-1, and Mount St. Joseph 2-0.

From the mound, junior Bonnie Crouthamel went 2-3 with an ERA of 3.31, while sophomore Meredith Morgan wrapped up a 0-1 record with a 2.38 ERA.

On the offensive end, sophomore Jessica Feldman and senior Robyn Jones combined to lead the team in batting, accounting for 24 of the team's 67 hits. Feldman rounded out Spring Break with a .343 average, accumulating 12 hits, seven runs, and the team's highest slugging percentage of .371. Jones finished with an average of .308, bringing in 12 hits, three runs, and a slugging percentage of .359.

Franklin & Marshall will travel to Owings Mills, MD to play a double-header against Villa Julie College on Sunday, March 25. The games are scheduled to start at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, respectively.
