Hargest Powers Diplomats Win

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse team, ranked number one in the nation, topped #20-ranked Dickinson 15-4 on Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats went on the offensive early, scoring the first five goals of the game. The Devils broke up the run when Alyssa Crellin scored off a Jena Boccetti assist with 9:40 remaining in the half.

Franklin & Marshall went on another 5-0 run before Crellin struck again with just six seconds remaining to make the score 10-2 at halftime.

The teams traded goals after the break to give F&M a 12-4 advantage with just over 12 minutes remaining in the game. The Diplomats tacked on three goals, including two from Shannon Summers to give her a game-high six for the afternoon.

Blake Hargest scored once and handed out five assists to help pace the F&M attack. Ashley Bevington added four goals and a game-high seven draw controls. Lidia Sanza made 13 saves in goal. The win was F&M's ninth over a top 20 opponent this season.

Crelling tallied three goals for Dickinson while senior Laura Williams scored as well.

Gabby Joffie made 17 saves in the Devil cage.

The Diplomats remain unbeaten on the season at 12-0 and 5-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 7-5 and 4-2.
