Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team established a new record for consecutive wins with a 16-3 victory over McDaniel in Saturday's Centennial Conference Championship semifinal. The victory was Franklin & Marshall's 16th in a row, surpassing the 15-straight won by the 1991 edition of the Diplomats.

The 13 goal differential ties for the largest scoring margin in the seven-year history of the Centennial Conference postseason, while the three goals represent the least goals surrendered by any team in that time.

Freshman Blake Hargest (Cockeysville, MD / SPSG) raised her season-high in scoring with five goals to lead the Diplomats effort. Amongst her goals was the game-winner, scored 8:09 into the game. It was the second goal Hargest scored on a feed from Shannon Summer (N. Wales, PA / The Hill School). Summers rolled up three assists in the contest.

Jen Pritchard (Media, PA / Penncrest) scored four goals. Sarah Meisenberg (Severna Park, MD / Severn School) scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others.

It was a game of two halves. McDaniel refused to roll over in the early going, and went into the half trailing 6-3. The Diplomats clamped down defensively in the second period, keeping McDaniel to seven shots. Lidia Sanza (Cockeysville, MD / SPSG) turned away three in the second half and six in the game. Her counterpart, Sarah White (Lincoln, DE / Cape Henlopen) posted nine saves.

Three different players, Chelsea Ferruzzi (Jenkintown, PA / Jenikintown), Erinn Hopkins (Monrovia, MD / Urbana), and Kerrie Wuenschel (Sykesville, MD / S. Carroll) scored for McDaniel. Connie Wuenschel (Sykesville, MD / S. Carroll) assisted Hopkins' goal.

With the win, Franklin & Marshall remains unblemished at 16-0, and will face the winner of the Gettysburg/Dickinson semifinal later this afternoon. McDaniel wraps its season at 12-5.
