ALLENTOWN, Pa. -
Jen Pritchard (Media, PA / Penncrest) scored five goals, while Sarah Meisenberg (Severna Park, MD / Severn School) and Ashley Bevington (Schwenksville, PA / Hill School) each scored four to lead #2 Franklin & Marshall to a 19-9 win at Muhlenberg Wednesday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 10-0 (4-0 CC), while Muhlenberg dropped to 7-3 (1-3) with its third Centennial Conference loss of the year.
Pritchard scored five goals for the fourth time this season, matching the squad's single game high of the year. She netted her fourth game-winner of the season in the waning minutes of the first half. Three of her four goals came on free position shots, as the Diplomats cashed in on four of the seven free opportunities afforded to them. Meisenberg accounted for the other.
Muhlenberg led 4-3 midway through the first half before Pritchard's first free position goal knotted it at 4-4. Two minutes later she scored unassisted. The Mules tied it at five per side, but watched F&M respond with a four-goal barrage that spanned 2:24 to make it a 9-5 game. The run, started and finished by Bevington, saw a pair of Meisenberg goals in the middle. The Mules were never closer than three goals the rest of the way.
F&M returns to action with another Centennial opponent, Ursinus, on Saturday in Lancaster.
