LANCASTER, Pa. - RiRi Ferrigno's second inning grand slam powered Muhlenberg's way to an 8-2 win the first game of a Centennial Conference sweep of Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster Friday afternoon. The second game, wrapping up well after the sun had set, was a 6-4 Muhlenberg (6-14, 3-1 CC) victory. The pair of losses mark the second time in as many days the Diplomats (6-16, 0-4 CC) were swept in Centennial Competition.

Muhlenberg led 6-4 heading into the seventh inning, which began at 7:52 pm. The Mules posted a pair of runs before the last chance Diplomats came to bat. The outcome of that final chance will forever remain a mystery. The Diplomats loaded the bases with two outs and the tying run at the plate when the umpires convened and finally called the game at 8:08 pm. The score reverted back to the end of the sixth inning.

Meredith Morgan took the loss, having given up six runs, five earned on 11 hits over four-and-two-thirds. She dropped to 0-3 on the season. F&M's Kathleen Clinchy went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the nightcap. Robyn Jones wore three pitches to first base. Four players recorded multiple hits for Muhlenberg, including Tina Roth and Jennifer Rosenthal. Roth scored twice, while Rosenthal drove two runs in.

Muhlenberg scored eight runs in the first three innings and never looked back in the opener. Ferrigno was 2-for-4 at the dish with a run scored in addition to her grand slam. Robyn Jones was 2-for-2 for the Diplomats with an RBI, while Lauren Incorvaia was 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.
