Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall and Muhlenberg
women's soccer teams each netted three goals in the first half and
would not score again to finish in a 3-all tie in Centennial
Conference (CC) action on Sunday.
The Mules scored the first three goals to take a 3-0 lead in the
opening 28 minutes of the game, while the Diplomats (8-4-2, 4-3-2
CC) put away three straight goals over a seven minute, 18 second
span to even the score that would stand for their second
consecutive draw.
Meghan O'Grady tallied a goal and an assist for Muhlenberg,
while Michelle Shea recorded the same statistics for F&M.
O'Grady helped start the scoring when she found Jayne Condon
from the end line to set up the first goal at the 16:25 mark.
Kimberly Hacker scored her fourth goal of the season in the
22nd minute to give the Mules a 2-0 lead after taking a
pass from across the box by Christina O'Grady and sending her shot
to the far post.
Meghan O'Grady converted a one-on-one opportunity at 28:06 off a
long pass from Nicolette Miller to take a commanding 3-0 advantage.
The Diplomats fought back and made sure their shots counted,
scoring on three out of the four shots taken in the first half.
Shea assisted Shannon Summers off a free kick with 9:36 before
halftime and then decided to score on her own free kick from
20-yards out to cut the deficit to 3-2 at 39:38.
F&M got its final goal off a miscue by Kate Morrissey,
allowing Amy Cawley to record her second goal of the season on an
open net with 3:18 left in the half.
Muhlenberg did not let the Diplomats take a shot in overtime,
while firing off three in each extra period. Christina O'Grady and
Jamie Weiss each took two apiece in OT.
Erin Roy made eight saves on 20 shots and Morrissey only needed
to make one, before Michele Toher stepped in for the next 65
minutes.
F&M returns to action on Saturday against Swarthmore in the
last regular season game, beginning at 11 a.m.
