LANCASTER, Pa. - Shannon Summers cleaned up a rebound off of an
Amy Cawley initial shot to net the game-winner as Franklin &
Marshall knocked off Bryn Mawr 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC)
women's soccer action on Saturday. Summers scored two on the day,
improving F&M to 7-2 (3-1 CC) on the season. Bryn Mawr fell to
4-6-1 (0-4 CC) .
The Diplomats outshot Bryn Mawr 21-3 and held a 7-2 advantage in
corner kicks.
Summers netted the decisive goal early in the 39th
minute to tie Danielle David for the team lead in goals on the
year. David pulled back out in front of Summers with her sixth,
adding to F&M's lead five-and-a-half minutes into the second
half. Summers caught back up to David late, scoring on
a hard shot from the center of the box to cash in on Shelby
Cummins' pass.
Erin Roy needed a single save to chalk up her fifth shutout of
the season. Bryn Mawr's Collette Pullion recorded seven saves in
the Owls' net.
The Diplomats return to action next Saturday against McDaniel.
The opening tap is set for 6:30 p.m., capping Homecoming Weekend.
